Research cooperation with the University of Chungbuk, Korea

Together with the Research Centre for Plant Biotechnology of the University of Chungbuk in Korea and the Korean company CBN BioTech, BioPlanta is developing new products for pharmaceutical applications.

BioPlanta is specialized in biotechnological breeding, screening and production of functional plants. These plants are used e.g. to produce phytochemicals, extracts and active agents. Cost-effective bioreactor technology we developed ourselves is applied in this. The Research Centre for Plant Biotechnology developed a process for the production of ginseng roots with bioreactors which is utilized by the company CBN BioTech on a large industrial scale. Within the framework of this common research project, the development of new products with a level of quality which had never been attained before as well as the shortening of the time required for development are enabled by gathering competencies, particularly bioreactor technologies with in vitro breeding and screening strategies.
